Jason Gruenbaum is the Founder and Managing Principal of GreenTree Capital Group, LLC.

After overseeing real estate investments both domestically and internationally, Jason founded GreenTree in 2016, narrowing his real estate focus to Southern California.  Southern California is one of the strongest and most resilient real estate markets in the world, particularly for industrial and multi-family property types.  Narrowing focus to this market, allowed for a more thorough network of relationships among the local real estate community, greater in-depth expertise of local sub-markets, and direct oversight of all real estate investments.     

Prior to founding GreenTree, Jason served as Managing Director and Head of Acquisitions at Hackman Capital Partners.  His responsibilities there were primarily focused on overseeing global real estate and equipment acquisitions for the company.  He was also involved in asset management, corporate strategy and fundraising.  While at Hackman Capital, he worked on the acquisition and structuring of transactions totaling more than $750 million.

Prior to joining Hackman Capital, Jason worked in the Multi-Industries Group in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch.  His responsibilities there included underwriting operating businesses, valuing companies, analyzing the stability of cash flows and assessing capital structure alternatives.  His efforts were primarily focused on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and public offerings.

Jason received his Bachelor's Degree with a triple major in Finance, Accounting and Economics from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.  He received his Juris Doctor Degree with a dual concentration in Real Estate and Corporate Transactions from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California.  He also received his Masters in Business Administration Degree with a double major in Real Estate and Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  Jason has guest lectured at several graduate schools and has been published on the subject of real estate.  He has been recognized for philanthropic work by the Mayor of Los Angeles and the Governor of California.  He currently serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations in California and New York. Jason, his wife, and their four children currently reside in Los Angeles.
